Every primary and peer-reviewed source on this site carries a permanent identifier — a museum registration number, a CDLI P-number, a DOI, an ISBN, an archive identifier. Software resolves each identifier, compares what comes back with what the citation claims, and records the result with a date. A page cannot be published while any of its identifiers is missing or unresolved.
What this is not: nobody here travelled to a museum, and this site does not claim otherwise. What is claimed is narrower and testable — the identifier beside each source resolves to the item described, and you can follow it yourself from this table.
